Project Description

Modelled and machined a portable desktop lathe. Cutting repeatability specification within 100 microns.

Role

Modelled the system in order to make design decisions around known cutting forces and desired repeatability. Ran FEA analysis on flexures and conducted measurement tests to ensure minimal error in system. Machined high precision parts.
